Government amends rules for purchasing information technology

According to the Ministry of Economy, the rules aim to reduce bureaucracy in procurement of IT goods and services, increase transparency and reduce the possibility of fraud and corruption in these processes.


The area has already been scandals object because of loopholes to various forms of fraud and corruption, such as the creation of shell technology companies.


Last year, the president of the National Social Security Institute (INSS), Francisco Lopes , was fired after allegations of contracts with these firms suspected, RSX, based in a liquor store.


Purchases of ICT involve from equipment - such as computers, accessories and servers - to various services such as storage records data of people, benefit payments and servers, internal communications tools (such as e-mail and chat) and management heritage, among several others, informs ISTOÉ .
